Ways to Give

For more than twenty years, Hallmark Health Hospice has provided for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of people suffering from terminal illnesses, and the people who love them, regardless of their illness or ability to pay.

Gifts to Hallmark Health Hospice provide significant support for our services and enable us to enhance the quality of life for each patient and to support the family throughout their bereavement. Everyone is or will be affected by death or grief in their lifetime. Your gift, big or small, will make a difference in someone's life and in the quality of care available to those facing a terminal illness.

Planned Giving/Bequests
Many friends who are unable to make substantial gifts during their lifetime have made major contributions through thoughtful, well-planned wills. You may provide for Hallmark Health Hospice in your will through a bequest, which will enable you to leave hospice a gift from your estate, after you have provided for your heirs.

There are many other ways to make a gift, which may result in significant tax savings. These may include closely held stock, securities, real estate, life insurance or personal property.

Memorial Gifts
A memorial donation can be made in the name of a loved one. This is a lasting tribute and honors the memory of that individual. Oftentimes, in the obituary section of the newspaper, families request that donations be made to a charity of one’s choice. Hallmark Health Hospice would greatly appreciate being considered as your designated charity when you make memorial contributions. All memorial contributions are individually acknowledged to the family of the deceased. The amount of the donation is not disclosed.

Life Insurance
Donation of a life insurance policy is also another way in which you can make a substantial gift to Hallmark Health Hospice. Please contact us if you wish to make such a gift, so that our Development Office may assist you in the arrangements.

Specified Programs
Although many of the gifts we receive are used for general patient expenses, some patients and their families like to direct gifts to a particular program that has special meaning to them. Gifts of $1,000 or more may be directed to one of these specific programs:

  • Patient Services, such as Alternative Complimentary Therapies
  • Education Programs for professional and family caregivers, and the general public
  • Bereavement and Volunteer Services

Matching Gifts
Many employers offer a matching gifts program. By participating in such a program, your employer will match your donation in its entirety or match a portion of your donation to Hallmark Health Hospice. If your employer or your spouse’s employer has a Matching Gifts Program, you can receive a form from the employer.

Volunteering
Please consider becoming a Hallmark Health Hospice volunteer. There are many opportunities available from assisting patients and families to office work. Call (781) 338-7866 for information on volunteering.
